Totara Lodge
Duck Pond
Duck pond and view to the south west, overlooking adjacent
Totara Park.

The building is the garage to Totara Lodge. The trees are not
native to New Zealand and have lost their leaves in winter. This includes what
John Davis calls "trees from
hell".
Totara Park, just
beyond our paddock, has
native trees, which are evergreen. The New Zealand Bush is always green.
Autumn colours only occur on imported plants.
In the distance are the houses of
South Auckland and a distant view of the Manukau Harbour.
New, 2002,
 | Now there is a windmill
called "Daisy" beside the pond which will soon be pumping water
for the waterfalls. |
 | March 2002: Extensive pond maintenance work
improves it considerably |
 | July 2002: A large panorama photograph shows further improvement. |
